4. Scientific and Educational Use
The Observatory is intended for education, research, cultural preservation, computational experimentation, public science communication and non-critical reference. Astronomical calculations may be based on open formulas, internally developed engines, validation layers, third-party references or future ephemeris integrations.
5. Sindhu Sambat Methodology Notice
Sindhu Sambat calculations, historical models, calendar mappings, month boundaries and date-conversion tools are part of an active research and validation effort. The Observatory may present both astronomical and historical reference models. These models are documented for transparency, but they should not be treated as final historical authority unless explicitly described as validated in the specification.
The Observatory may revise Sindhu Sambat algorithms after comparison with historical references, astronomical standards, JPL/Swiss Ephemeris style validation, documentary evidence and scholarly review.
6. Simulations and Visualisations
Simulations, animations, orbital diagrams, moon-phase renderers, eclipse visuals and other graphical elements are educational representations. They may use scaled, simplified or visually adjusted distances, sizes, colors, timings or paths to make complex scientific concepts understandable on desktop and mobile screens.
Visual elements should not be interpreted as exact professional-grade ephemeris output unless the page explicitly states that a value has been validated against a defined reference source.
7. API Terms of Use
API endpoints are provided to support research, education, experimentation, website integration, prototypes and developer exploration. By using the APIs you agree that:
- You will not overload, scrape aggressively, attack, reverse-engineer for abuse, or attempt to bypass limits.
- You will cache responsibly and respect any published rate limits or usage instructions.
- API schemas, fields, endpoint names and response formats may change as the Observatory matures.
- APIs may be temporarily unavailable during maintenance, migration, validation or security response.
- You must not present Observatory data as official government, aviation, maritime, legal, religious or safety authority.
High-volume, commercial, institutional or automated use may require prior written permission or a dedicated access arrangement, especially if it creates operational cost or service stability concerns.
8. Open Data and Dataset Licensing
The Observatory and SindhiLanguage.org may publish datasets, structured files, lexicons, JSON data, CSV files, SQLite databases, research exports or API responses. Each dataset may be governed by its own license, attribution rules, versioning notes and data-use restrictions.
- Where a dataset states a specific license, that license controls use of the dataset.
- Where no license is stated, you should request clarification before commercial or redistributed use.
- You must preserve attribution, version information and source notes when required.
- You must not remove warnings, research limitations or validation-status notes from redistributed datasets.
9. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, the website design, written documentation, page structure, code organization, original explanations, curated metadata, UI components, branding, institutional text and compiled content are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws and platform-specific ownership terms.
Some data, formulas, references, public-domain materials, standards, open datasets or third-party resources may be governed by separate rights. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of intellectual property to users.
10. Acceptable Use Policy
You agree not to use the Observatory to:
- Disrupt, overload, scan, attack, compromise or interfere with the website, APIs or server infrastructure.
- Misrepresent Observatory outputs as official certification, legal authority or verified professional advice.
- Remove attribution, source notes, disclaimers or validation-status information from redistributed material.
- Use automated extraction in a way that harms availability or violates published access rules.
- Upload, transmit or link to malicious code, spam, unlawful content or deceptive material.
- Use the services for surveillance, harassment, fraud, impersonation or unlawful activity.
11. Research, Citation and Attribution
Researchers, developers, educators and institutions are encouraged to cite the Observatory responsibly. A suitable citation should include the page or endpoint title, URL, access date, version or last updated date if available, and the name of the platform.
